Doomben Preview – Saturday 12th May

The main racing on Saturday in Queensland will be at Doomben.

It’s Gr 1 time and the much loved Doomben 10,000 will be run.

Rail Position: is true entire track
Track Condition: rates a soft 7

Race 1- Shipping Class 2 Hcp 1110m

Date: 13/5
Time: 12:15pm
Location: Doomben

MARSCAY FORCE is one of the class athletes but my oh my – resuming from a spell and drawn the car park on a track that doesn’t ever allow outside draws any leeway. Place at best. INVINCIBLE EXPRESS is top notch and is gunning for 6 wins on the bounce. Toughest task to date but is soooo honest. TUMBLER will appreciate this on many levels. Should storm down the centre of the track and win as she likes.

The Early Crows Top Tip: TUMBLER

Race 2 – BM 85 Hcp

Date: 13/5
Time: 12:51pm
Location: Doomben

PRIVLAKA has always shown talent but this time around is just so strong, honest and consistent. Placed past 2 this grade and should be there when chips are down again. DON’T TELL MAMA is in the same boat. Is roaring through the grades by dint of toughness and consistency. Big threat while MATERNAL is well up to these but awkward draw is a concern. Sure to be running on though if she gets cover early.

The Early Crows Top Tip: DON’T TELL MAMA

Race 3- Singapore Turf Club Hcp 1600m

Date: 13/5
Time: 1:26pm
Location: Doomben

JUMBO PRINCE gets into this race rather well. Scored when resuming similar company 2 runs back. Fitter now and big show. MARYORE came with a barnstorming finish to claim the Provincial Champs at Randwick recently. Not suited last start but no surprise to see her storm home here. SEBRINA has always promised a lot but rarely delivers. May be last time we tip her if she can’t find form against these.

The Early Crows Top Tip: MARYORE

Race 4- $175,000 2YO Champagne Classic 1200m

Date: 13/5
Time: 2:06pm
Location: Doomben

SNITZKRAFT has a bit of an x-factor about him in so much as when he turns it on, he looks awesome. Should be on speed and look likely all the way in this. TANGLED is from Sydney and showed great determination to score at rthe provincials last start. Stable has opinion of this bloke who likes to get back then charge home. COOROI CHASE is very promising winning on debut and charging late for 2nd this grade last start. Drawn to get soft run.

The Early Crows Top Tip: SNITZKRAFT

Race 5- Chairman’s Class 1 Hcp 1200m

Date: 13/5
Time: 2:46pm
Location: Doomben

GOOD STANDING led and weakened similar grade when resuming last start but wasn’t far away. As a 2YO, up on speed to win at Gr 2 level. Bound to be competitive here. MORTON’S FORK didn’t have luck last campaign in Melb. Has a lot of class and if he turns up to fight, he wins this. SYLPHEED is an interesting runner. She has talent and is fit now. Respect her.

The Early Crows Top Tip: MORTON’S FORK

Race 6- $125,000 Chairman’s Hcp 2000m

Date: 13/5
Time: 3:26pm
Location: Doomben

STAMPEDE is just a tough, front-runner, typical of the type Tulloch Lodge brings north for carnival duties. Will roll to the lead and take a mountain of catching. THE CHAIRMAN is in form, very fit, is ready to win…and the race is named after him! MORENDI 4 wins past 6 starts….do the maths. Is a quality stayer.

The Early Crows Top Tip: THE CHAIRMAN

Race 7- $700,000 Doomben 10,000 1200m

Date: 13/5
Time: 4:04pm
Location: Doomben

Very strong and even renewal of a time honoured race. FELL SWOOP doesn’t win many these days, but is a genuine Gr 1 competitor and he goes well fresh. Should jump and be on pace all way here. Likes to accelerate around bend. Big danger. MUSIC MAGNATE brilliantly won this race last year swooping on rivals once turned for home. Shorter trip this time but his first class effort to win last start in Brissy says he’s primed and ready to rumble again. REDZEL is all class and has come of age at this level now. Hasn’t won at Gr 1 but has placed and he is sooo tough he should be on the speed all way.

The Early Crows Top Tip: 1. REDZEL, 2. Music Magnate, 3. Fell Swoop

Race 8- $125,000 Rough Habit Plate 2000m

Date: 13/5
Time: 4:39pm
Location: Doomben

VELADERO is only an earnest plugger but he got to the wire in good style last start proving he will be right in the fray here. HERE HE COMES is a Kiwi and we know what they can do when in Aust. He’s probably a tier below what we have seen from there of late, but he appears tough. PETER JOHN is getting better with racing and his dominant win at the provincials last start says he is ready for this company. Keep safe.

The Early Crows Top Tip: VELADERO
