SATURDAY RACING PREVIEW – SCONE

The main racing on Saturday in NSW is up at Scone for Day-2 of their annual two day carnival.

Track’s in great order and worth punting on. It’s a stand alone meeting and the fields are hot, the wagering will be large and the racing – outstanding.

Rail Position: is out 3m from 800 to w/p true remainder
Track Condition: rates a good 4

Race 1- Open BM 78 2200m

Date: 13/5
Time: 12:05pm
Location: Scone

Can’t wait for this race. RICHARD OF YORKE has found slashing form and is sooo strong he just seems to win everything this grade under any conditions. Big show. GREAT GLEN, his stablemate, has a few big wraps upon him and he won with authority last start. Hugh Bowman has chosen him over Richard which speaks volumes. But then we see the Godolphin stayer INTERLOCUTER. This could be a real star in the making. Super fit and ready for this grade. Looks ideally placed.

The Early Crows Top Tip: INTERLOCUTER

Race 2- Star Turn at Vinery BM 78 Hcp 1100m

Date: 13/5
Time: 12:40pm
Location: Scone

FIRSTHAND is fast and in strong stable. Unlike most main hopes, he has a reasonable barrier too. Will be in the finish. HOT HIT is a bush speedster who just knows this track well and puts in every start. Should be rattling home while EVER SO NATURAL might just appreciate the hectic pace this race will generate early. He can fly home on his day.

The Early Crows Top Tip: HOT HIT

Race 3- $150,000 Woodlands Stakes 2YO Fillies 1100m

Date: 13/5
Time: 1:15pm
Location: Scone

Godolphin to the fore again here and that just strengthens Darren Beadman's hope of securing the top job. This filly EPIDEMIC Is one of the powerhouse's best juveniles. Is still a maiden but trials like a superstar and is ready to rumble in this. DEBONAIRLY is fast and will be in the leading bunch all way. Great 2nd last start showing fight while ALMANZORA should be running on.

The Early Crows Top Tip: EPIDEMIC

Race 4- $150,000 Coolmore Denise’s Joy Stakes 1100m

Date: 13/5
Time: 1:50pm
Location: Scone

FICKLE FOLLY is fresh and being a mare who likes to lead, she can go bang and be in front a long way. Looms as an exciting sprinting prospect. ZUMBELINA is 3rd up and ready now. Will appreciate the hard pace on early and can rattle home late to be in this finish. INFRA DIG trialled well recently. Is resuming here and this is a very even affair. Luck in running will play a role. This harder but is on the rise.

The Early Crows Top Tip: FICKLE FOLLY

Race 5- $400,000 Inglis 3YO Guineas 1400m

Date: 13/5
Time: 2:30pm
Location: Scone

PRIZED ICON hasn’t been against this caliber of runner for some time. He is fresh and is a Gr 1 winner. That makes him exceptionally hard to hold out. CALANDA is boomed highly yet met with enormous bother last start and was well beaten. Give another chance as where there is smoke there is fire. BARBASS is a bush horse with enormous talent. Has he enough at level weights against this mob…hard to say? He did win the inglis 2YO Challenge at this meet last year.

The Early Crows Top Tip: 1. PRIZED ICON, 2. Calanda, 3. Barbass

Race 6- $150,000 Luskin Star Stakes 1300m

Date: 13/5
Time: 3:10pm
Location: Scone

GOLD SYMPHONY may need this run but he is the class of the race,. Resumes here and trial was handy. Keep safe. CLEARLY INNOCENT was disappointing when resuming last start. He’s had his issues but has a new trainer now and loves this track. Expect big improvement. SNOOPY is classy when right but is resuming here. If this helps: I dreamed he won this race. Truly!

The Early Crows Top Tip: CLEARLY INNOCENT

Race 7- $200,000 Dark Jewel Classic 1400m

Date: 13/5
Time: 3:50pm
Location: Scone

Gai and Adrian look well placed here. Down the bottom of the weights PROMPT RETURN looks their best. She will surge clear early and be on the pace. The tougher horses are weighted out of this and she can roll on to victory with her weight advantage. ARTISTRY, who had no luck last start, and DAYSEE DOOM will be running on hard for the minors.

The Early Crows Top Tip: PROMPT RETURN

Race 8- $150,000 Arrowfield Ortensia Stakes 1100m

Date: 13/5
Time: 4:30pm
Location: Scone

DOTHRAKI hasn’t won for a while but on his day he is such a strong sprinter and does go well fresh. Big weight though. BIG MONEY needs a firm track. If he gets that here, and he may, then watch him rattle home late and big each way odds. FELINES shocked with toughness of win last start. This is slightly tougher but is back to her very best and that’s significant here. Can go close.

The Early Crows Top Tip: BIG MONEY
