Albert Vete 16 Greg Eastwood
Bunty Afoa 17 Matt Frawley

History:
Played 37, Broncos 19, Eels 18

Last Meeting: Eels 28 def Broncos 14

Final Thoughts: A great test for both side as we approach the serious point of the season. Interestingly, these sides met only four weeks ago when the Eels upset the Broncos in Sydney 28-14. Since then, the Broncos have turned on the afterburners and racked up easy wins against the Titans, Sharks, and Dragons, while the Eels have beaten the Bulldogs and Titans. Both sides play an exciting brand of footy, and you can expect a lot of points on the scoreboard. But in an out-and-out shooting match, the Broncos look to have the edge. Whether it’s an 11 point edge is another matter.

Tip: Eels +10.5 @ $1.90

Canberra Raiders v Newcastle Knights @ GIO Stadium
Friday 25th August, 6:00pm

  Raiders Knights

Ben Matulino 10 James Graham
Bodene Thompson 11 Josh Jackson
Ryan Hoffman 12 Adam Elliott
Simon Mannering 13 David Klemmer
Nathaniel Roache 14 Sam Kasiano
Sam Lisone 15 Danny Fualalo
Albert Vete 16 Greg Eastwood
Bunty Afoa 17 Matt Frawley

History:
Played 35, Raiders 17, Knights 16

Last Meeting: Knights 34 def Raiders 20

Final Thoughts: The Knights head to Canberra missing two of their best players of 2017 in Sione Mata’uta and Brock Lamb. The loss of both will have a huge impact on a side which was comprehensively beaten by the Storm last week. The Raiders missed their chance to claim a spot in the finals with their loss to the Panthers on Sunday. The short turnaround makes this a very tricky game for the Green Machine, but they need to win to have the smallest of finals chances.

Tip: Raiders win 1-12 @ $3.50

Wests Tigers v North Queensland Cowboys @ Campbelltown Stadium
Friday 25th August, 7:50pm

  Broncos Eels
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck 1 William Hopoate
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 2 Brett Morris
Blake Ayshford 3 Josh Morris
David Fusitu’a 4 Chase Stanley
Ken Maumalo 5 Marcelo Montoya
Kieran Foran 6 Josh Reynolds
Shaun Johnson 7 Moses Mbye
Jacob Lillyman 8 Aiden Tolman
Issac Luke 9 Michael Lichaa
Ben Matulino 10 James Graham
Bodene Thompson 11 Josh Jackson
Ryan Hoffman 12 Adam Elliott
Simon Mannering 13 David Klemmer
Nathaniel Roache 14 Sam Kasiano
Sam Lisone 15 Danny Fualalo
Albert Vete 16 Greg Eastwood
Bunty Afoa 17 Matt Frawley

History:
Played 33, Tigers 18, Cowboys 15

Last Meeting: Tigers 26 def Cowboys 16

Final Thoughts: A very interesting match for Friday night! The Tigers have been very good over the last month, including coming very close to beating the Roosters last week. The loss of Taylor hurts a little, but I suspect their form is slightly above the poor Cowboys. Last Saturday’s loss to the Sharks was their fourth in a row, and really highlighted their mounting injury list. They are still a very talented football side who deserve to play finals football, but the Tigers are the team with the momentum coming into this.

Tip: Tigers win @ $1.90

Gold Coast Titans v Canterbury Bulldogs @ CBUS Stadium
Saturday 26th August, 3:00pm

  Raiders Knights
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck 1 William Hopoate
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 2 Brett Morris
Blake Ayshford 3 Josh Morris
David Fusitu’a 4 Chase Stanley
Ken Maumalo 5 Marcelo Montoya
Kieran Foran 6 Josh Reynolds
Shaun Johnson 7 Moses Mbye
Jacob Lillyman 8 Aiden Tolman
Issac Luke 9 Michael Lichaa
Ben Matulino 10 James Graham
Bodene Thompson 11 Josh Jackson
Ryan Hoffman 12 Adam Elliott
Simon Mannering 13 David Klemmer
Nathaniel Roache 14 Sam Kasiano
Sam Lisone 15 Danny Fualalo
Albert Vete 16 Greg Eastwood
Bunty Afoa 17 Matt Frawley

History:
Played 14, Titans 7, Bulldogs 7

Last Meeting: Bulldogs 21 def Titans 20

Final Thoughts: For a team that hasn’t broken more than 20 points in a game for almost two months, it’s very interesting to see the Titans open favourites in this one. They have been simply diabolical over the last three weeks, and punters seem to be over reacting to the sacking of Neil Henry on Monday. More than happy to snap up the price about the Bulldogs who get some big ins this week, and who showed some glimmers of life in their win over Manly on Sunday.

Tip: Bulldogs win @ $2.38

Melbourne Storm v South Sydney Rabbitohs @ AAMI Park
Saturday 26th August, 5:30pm

  Broncos Eels
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck 1 William Hopoate
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 2 Brett Morris
Blake Ayshford 3 Josh Morris
David Fusitu’a 4 Chase Stanley
Ken Maumalo 5 Marcelo Montoya
Kieran Foran 6 Josh Reynolds
Shaun Johnson 7 Moses Mbye
Jacob Lillyman 8 Aiden Tolman
Issac Luke 9 Michael Lichaa
Ben Matulino 10 James Graham
Bodene Thompson 11 Josh Jackson
Ryan Hoffman 12 Adam Elliott
Simon Mannering 13 David Klemmer
Nathaniel Roache 14 Sam Kasiano
Sam Lisone 15 Danny Fualalo
Albert Vete 16 Greg Eastwood
Bunty Afoa 17 Matt Frawley

History:
Played 37, Broncos 19, Eels 18

Last Meeting: Eels 28 def Broncos 14

Final Thoughts: Souths have come alive over the last three weeks, beating the Dragons, Bulldogs, and Warriors. But this week they have the biggest possible step up in class when they travel to Melbourne to face the Storm. Not only do the Storm have a 74% winning record at home, South are yet to claim a victory at AAMI Park, a stat unlikely to change this weekend. With no indication that coach Bellamy will rest stars, expect the Minor Premiers to once again rack up a score.

Tip: Storm -12.5 @ $1.90

Cronulla Sharks v Sydney Roosters @ Southern Cross Stadium
Saturday 26th August, 7:30pm

  Raiders Knights
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck 1 William Hopoate
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 2 Brett Morris
Blake Ayshford 3 Josh Morris
David Fusitu’a 4 Chase Stanley
Ken Maumalo 5 Marcelo Montoya
Kieran Foran 6 Josh Reynolds
Shaun Johnson 7 Moses Mbye
Jacob Lillyman 8 Aiden Tolman
Issac Luke 9 Michael Lichaa
Ben Matulino 10 James Graham
Bodene Thompson 11 Josh Jackson
Ryan Hoffman 12 Adam Elliott
Simon Mannering 13 David Klemmer
Nathaniel Roache 14 Sam Kasiano
Sam Lisone 15 Danny Fualalo
Albert Vete 16 Greg Eastwood
Bunty Afoa 17 Matt Frawley

History:
Played 37, Sharks 16, Roosters 20

Last Meeting: Sharks 44 def Roosters 12

Final Thoughts: The match of the round between two genuine contenders. Very hard to get a read on where exactly both sides are at the moment. Last time they met the Sharks put in their best performance of the year and annihilated the Roosters 44-12. However, since then they have looked very ordinary, and have only beaten Souths, the Warriors, and the injury-hit Cowboys. Admittedly, in the same time, the Roosters’ record reads very similar, but they have shown some serious glimpses of brilliance in that time. Assuming they can put in close to an 80-minute performance, they are great value as underdogs.

Tip: Roosters win @ $2.06

New Zealand Warriors v Manly Sea Eagles @ Mt Smart Stadium
Sunday 27th August, 2:00pm

  Broncos Eels
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck 1 William Hopoate
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 2 Brett Morris
Blake Ayshford 3 Josh Morris
David Fusitu’a 4 Chase Stanley
Ken Maumalo 5 Marcelo Montoya
Kieran Foran 6 Josh Reynolds
Shaun Johnson 7 Moses Mbye
Jacob Lillyman 8 Aiden Tolman
Issac Luke 9 Michael Lichaa
Ben Matulino 10 James Graham
Bodene Thompson 11 Josh Jackson
Ryan Hoffman 12 Adam Elliott
Simon Mannering 13 David Klemmer
Nathaniel Roache 14 Sam Kasiano
Sam Lisone 15 Danny Fualalo
Albert Vete 16 Greg Eastwood
Bunty Afoa 17 Matt Frawley

History:
Played 28, Warriors 8, Sea Eagles 20

Last Meeting: Sea Eagles 26 def Warriors 22

Final Thoughts: A bit of a stinker between two out of form sides. Shaun Johnson has been named by the Warriors, but is he enough to arrest a seven-match losing streak? If there’s a side they could upset, it does look to be Manly who are travelling terribly at the moment. Their win over the Roosters aside, they have leaked more than 30 points in four of their last five matches, and look to be limping into the finals. Their great record over the ditch hints at the Manly win, but it might be worth taking the start for the upset.

Tip: Warriors +6.5 @ $1.90

Penrith Panthers v St George Illawarra Dragons @ Pepper Stadium
Sunday 27th August, 4:00pm

  Raiders Knights
Roger Tuivasa-Sheck 1 William Hopoate
Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad 2 Brett Morris
Blake Ayshford 3 Josh Morris
David Fusitu’a 4 Chase Stanley
Ken Maumalo 5 Marcelo Montoya
Kieran Foran 6 Josh Reynolds
Shaun Johnson 7 Moses Mbye
Jacob Lillyman 8 Aiden Tolman
Issac Luke 9 Michael Lichaa
Ben Matulino 10 James Graham
Bodene Thompson 11 Josh Jackson
Ryan Hoffman 12 Adam Elliott
Simon Mannering 13 David Klemmer
Nathaniel Roache 14 Sam Kasiano
Sam Lisone 15 Danny Fualalo
Albert Vete 16 Greg Eastwood
Bunty Afoa 17 Matt Frawley

History:
Played 31, Panthers 12, Dragons 19

Last Meeting: Dragons 42 def Panthers 10

Final Thoughts: With only two wins from their last five matches, the Dragons are close to the worst side in the competition at the moment and a shadow of the team they were earlier in the season. With their spot in the top eight on the line, they played quite well against the red-hot Broncos last week, but have to back that up this week against the even hotter Panthers. Their win against the desperate Raiders had a lot of September about it, and they are warming into the finals very nicely. This will be closer than many expect, but they can cover this line.

Tip: Panthers -6.5 @ $1.90
